‘AN ARTIST OF THE THIRD AGE’
HAYDON WILLIAMS (Des.RCA)
After a stimulating 40 year career as an International Colour and Design Consultant, Haydon Williams has returned to his first love, the creation of artworks.
Formally, Haydon spent his life working with leading International manufacturing industries. Embracing the creation of exterior car colours; graphics and finishes for sports goods and bikes; to patterns and coordinates for textiles, wallpapers and ceramic tiles, he has developed products possessing strong consumer appeal, which have sold successfully in many markets.
Retiring from this world of demanding commercial needs, he is now creating and promoting his own artworks. These comprising photographic collages; drawings; paintings and unique 3-dimensional relief works.
Created in series, many of the works are based on landscape locations. Given a surreal, fantasy twist, they are often linked to historic or dramatic events offering powerful narrative starting points. Haydon’s studio, close to the iconic Richmond Park has provided inspiration for many of his works.
Last year he launched a web site http://haydonwilliams.co.uk/ featuring artworks and promoting a planned solo exhibition. This to be held May 12 – 22nd in a gallery close to Tate Modern on the South Bank of the Thames.
Before this exhibition he will be showing selected works at the Cannizaro House Hotel on Wimbledon Common. In June/July work will be featured at the Landmark Trust Arts Centre in Twickenham (South West London).
This event is organized by the artist in collaboration with Unit24 LLC California.
